As our language teaching profession grows and evolves, we want to acknowledge the Wayfinders who have made this conversation possible. Those Wayfinders are in Second Language Acquisition research, leading out in state and national organizations, and teaching in classrooms around us.
Bill VanPatten is an independent scholar and former Professor of Spanish
and Second Language Acquisition at Michigan State University. He specializes in
second language acquisition, which he investigates on both theoretical and
practical levels, using techniques from psycholinguistics, applied linguistics,
and cognitive psychology. His call-in talk show Tea with BVP discussed
topics related to second language learning, teaching, and acquisition. It ran
from 2015-2017 with the purpose of accelerating the dissemination of
research-supported knowledge and practices that are relevant to language
teachers and practitioners. He has published numerous articles and books and is

Lots of them are great teachers. Quite a lot of the
great teachers are outstanding. Many of those outstanding teachers are in your community! But not all of them have a website or a blog or other avenue
with which to directly connect.
In this
section, my desire is to connect teachers to the Wayfinders in our
profession. There are so many incredible language teachers who want to
connect, mentor, share resources, and inspire you in your language teaching
journey. I hope you explore these teacher’s blogs and websites and find
inspiration!
